Skulls are a symbol of mortality and also are a symbol used to represent death and rebirth. Often they are also associated with ancestors. Skulls can be used for head work and to place thoughts into a target mind, or to haunt a target with thoughts of mortality.

These having a base covered in skulls with a hand reaching out to hold a single skull could be used to represent the hold of ones ancestors supporting a mortal vessel. Or it could be used to symbolize seizing of a targets mind.
