Elder Wand Traditional Length

The venerable elder tree is associated with the Crone, the death phase, and the faery realms. She is a keeper of some of the oldest and deepest magic. Folk wisdom has it that elder branches should never be cut or burned. The Wiccan Rede states: “elder be ye Lady’s tree/burn it not, or cursed ye’ll be.” Perhaps due to superstition, and perhaps due to the tree’s small stature, it’s difficult to find elder wood for sale.

A curious wood at times, elder can provide both protection from negative energies or make its holder find themselves having a conversation with those negative energies. Elder also promotes intelligence and understanding current situations. Draws off of the elements of earth and water. Elder is a sacred wood, and should only be used for white magic.  This is a powerful wood for defensive magic, seeks a companion for healing and protection.
